About Us
Petal Share is a charitable organization focused on merging the ideals of social philanthropy, community service and collective purpose. I founded Petal Share as a way to bring joy and comfort to the most fragile among us and as a way of fostering unconventional philanthropy.
The Petal Share mission is simple - to share recycled flowers received from various sources including special events, weddings, galas and receptions with individuals (and their caregivers) in nursing homes, hospice centers, battered women's shelters and homeless youth shelters. Basically, wherever there are people in need of a comforting gesture.
In essence, we create a "circle of service" using flowers. The circle begins with generous retailers, event hosts, planners, local growers, newly married couples and florists who entrust Petal Share with the privilege of giving their flowers a second life.
Petal Share volunteers or “Pollinators” continue the circle by customizing, rearranging and finally delivering the flowers to individuals in need. The circle is completed when our volunteers and donors feel the deep appreciation and joy received from those we serve. In this process, everyone gives and everyone receives.
I believe that everybody deserves a gift that says, “you are not forgotten” and “we care”. I also believe that everyone is capable of giving such a gift.
